The Universidad Externado de Colombia (Externado University of Colombia) is a private university in Bogota, Colombia. Externado University is one of the oldest and most prestigious accredited private universities in Latin America as well as one of the most recognized in Colombia in the areas of Law; Finance, Government and International Relations; Account; Economics; and Business Administration. It is a higher learning and social sciences research institution, known for its rigor and academic excellence, as well as its pluralistic approach to academia upon which the institution was founded.

It is estimated that a single student living in Bogota will need approximately $500 US / $750 US a month to meet basic living expenses such as accommodation, food, books and equipment and other necessities. This figure is given as a guide only. The amount you actually spend will depend on your personal lifestyle. 
Some estimated expenditures: 

Apartments from $150 US to $350 US /month 

Food: $150 US /month 
Lunch in a restaurant close to the University: $7 US (15000 Pesos COP)

Public Transport: $50 US /month 

Externado Student Health insurance: $25 US /month 

Student ID card: $14 US /semester
