The university hosts more than 30,000 students, spread over  seven sites in Brussels and Wallonia. Its main site is in Louvain-la-Neuve, a pedestrianized city. Our University trains students in all disciplines, from Bachelor to PhD, and offers many continuing education programs. It is also the pioneer in the creation of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs): it is the first French-speaking university in Europe to offer online courses on the Edx platform (16 courses available in 2016).

Location

Located 30 km from Brussels in the heart of Brabant Wallon, the Louvain-la-Neuve site welcomes more than 20,000 students in its eleven faculties.
 
Founded in 1971 by the university, this city is one of the youngest in Europe. A town in the countryside, it offers an exceptional living environment for students, researchers, professors and locals. Museums, cinemas, theaters, concert and exhibition halls, swimming pool and sports center, restaurants and cafes, shops and green spaces contribute to the quality of its environment.

The cost of living in Belgium corresponds to the European average. You should budget approximately €800 per month to cover housing (average UCL room rental is €300/month), food, transport, medical care and entertainment.
