Program Description:
University of Hull
The University of Hull was founded in 1927 – originally as University College Hull. The foundation stone was laid the following year by the Duke of York (later King George VI, of The King's Speech fame) and we opened for business with 39 students and 14 ‘one-man’ departments. They’ve come a long way since then, to put it mildly. The University now has more than 16,000 students and around 2,500 employees, including more than 1000 academic staff.
Hull has been voted one of the top 10 cities in the world to visit in 2016 and rated among the UK’s best destinations by the Daily Telegraph.
Close to campus, there’s a vibrant University Quarter where the leafy Avenues residential area borders an eclectic selection of bars, coffee shops, eateries and boutiques. Popular with our student community, it’s a quirky, bohemian part of town, full of interesting shops and interesting people.
