Aarhus University is a public university located in Aarhus, Denmark. Founded in 1928, it is Denmark's second oldest university and the largest, with a total of 43,600 enrolled students as of 1 January 2012, after a merger with Aarhus School of Engineering. A young university with high aspirations, it belongs to the international elite. In most prestigious ranking lists of the world´s best universities, Aarhus University is placed in the top 100.
Aarhus is the second-largest city in Denmark. Aarhus has the second-largest urban area in Denmark after Copenhagen. The principal port of Denmark, Aarhus is on the east side of the peninsula of Jutland in the geographical center of Denmark. Aarhus is the seat of the council of Aarhus municipality. With more than 1.2 million people living in the East Jutland metropolitan area it represents approximately 23% of the population of Denmark.

Areas not open to exchange students:
There is limited access to Health including Medicine. The majority of courses taught in English are on MA/MSc level. Courses at the Faculty of Health are mainly taught in Danish.
The majority of courses taught in English are on MA/MSc level. Courses are assessed with different ECTS points. On each faculty's homepage you will find information about credits awarded for each course, allowing you to plan your academic year.

Health Insurance: Students staying for more than 3 months are covered by the Danish Health Insurance after having received CPR-number (apply upon arrival).
Students staying less than 3 months have to obtain a private health insurance before arriving to Denmark.

Exchange students at Aarhus Universitet have two accommodation options, shared facilities houses or student residencies.
