Aarhus University is a public university located in Aarhus, Denmark. Founded in 1928, it is Denmark's second oldest university and the largest, with a total of 43,600 enrolled students as of 1 January 2012, after a merger with Aarhus School of Engineering. A young university with high aspirations, it belongs to the international elite. In most prestigious ranking lists of the world´s best universities, Aarhus University is placed in the top 100.

The principal port of Denmark, Aarhus is on the east side of the peninsula of Jutland in the geographical center of Denmark. Aarhus is the seat of the council of Aarhus municipality. With more than 1.2 million people living in the East Jutland metropolitan area it represents approximately 23% of the population of Denmark.

There is limited access to Health including Medicine. The majority of courses taught in English are on MA/MSc level. Courses at the Faculty of Health are mainly taught in Danish.

- Health Insurance: Students staying for more than 3 months are covered by the Danish Health Insurance after having received CPR-number (apply upon arrival).
Students staying less than 3 months have to obtain a private health insurance before arriving to Denmark.
